This Site will provide every student with a guide to some of the most important project and activities in my Construction and Woodworking courses. This is designed to be a resource and not a daily record of what happens in class. I will include as many pictures as possible to update you on what exciting things we are working on.
This is an exciting year as I have made a move to take over the Construction program at Allatoona after teaching English for the past 16 years. I have been a woodworker/carpenter for the last 32 years and I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge of wood craft and art. If you would like to see some of the work that I do and have done over the past several years, please visit my personal website at www.joelanier.com
For my Carpentry 1 class - you will be taking the End of Pathway assessment in the next few weeks. please refer to the links and information below to help you. Most of the material covered was from your Introduction class last year; but, I am giving you a link to take a practice exam as well as look at some things on the test.

If you are a parent working in the construction industries, please send me an email and let me know how you would like to be involved in our program. I will also be looking for parent support in the creation of a woodworking club. In addition, if you have an interest in helping build a booster club for our program please reach out to me as soon as possible. This will allow us to sell our products as well as improve our equipment and tools with ease.
I have tremendous support from our new Principal, Mrs. Wilkes, as well as from all of our administration. It is very important that we work hard to make this the program our students deserve and obviously want. My classes have grown exponentially since the announcement that I will be taking over. I want to use this momentum to not only pour funds into the program, but provide the opportunity for our students to transition into the local workforce with great success.
